Walk Thru the Bible Wins National Religious Broadcasters Ministry Website of the Year Media Award

Convio Helps Organization Drive Product Sales and Donations to Extend Ministry

 Walk Thru the Bible Ministries, Inc. — an international ministry transforming how people live out their faith through the creation and distribution of teaching, training, and tools — has been named winner of the "Best Ministry Website" in the National Religious Broadcasters (NAB) 2007 Annual Media Awards. Walk Thru uses a Convio-powered Web site and online tools as a critical connection between the organization, lay people and professionals.

The award, presented at NRB's international convention in Orlando, Florida, honors the Internet Web site of a ministry or content producer for excellence in design and content, creativity in presentation, and effectiveness of the site in fulfilling the ministry's mission.

Convio is the leading provider of online constituent relationship management solutions (eCRM) for nonprofits. The company's software and services help organizations use the Internet for building strong constituent relationships to drive fundraising, marketing, advocacy and other forms of mission-critical support.

"We are honored and humbled to receive recognition for our stewardship of the Internet as a vehicle to share communication and information with the worldwide body of Christ," said Chip Ingram, President of Walk Thru the Bible. "Just like the Apostle Paul wrote letters in the New Testament, our global team at Walk Thru the Bible leverages media to communicate with pastors and Christians worldwide, to become and develop what we call 'Romans 12 Christians'."

Chip Brown, Senior Vice President of Media and Marketing at Walk Thru the Bible, added, "Walk Thru the Bible has a 30 year reputation for creating excellent, innovative ministry resources that are easy to understand and apply to one's life. We're simply honoring the ministry's legacy by encouraging the talented people God has at Walk Thru the Bible to deploy their gifts into emerging technologies."

With Convio, Walk Thru is able to provide multiple constituencies with an engaging online experience. The group's Web site provides visitors with easy to navigate access to an extensive collection of ministry resources, including small group curriculum, podcasts, e-newsletters, blogs, books, magazines, live seminars, and Walk Thru's popular radio program, "Living on the Edge."

Convio's online solution also has enabled Walk Thru to generate significant results. In 2006, the ministry:

  • Doubled its Web site traffic from more than 22,000 in March to more than 46,000 in December;
  • Generated more than $1.2 million in online revenue, with monthly donations increasing from $13,000 in April 2006 to more than $46,000 in January 2007; and
  • Processed more than $700,000 in product sales.

"It is very gratifying to see a nonprofit organization such as Walk Thru the Bible achieve recognition for its engaging, dynamic Web site using Convio tools to effectively build and sustain relationships, especially with donors," said Gene Austin, CEO, Convio. "Walk Thru demonstrates how organizations can use the right tools with great content to efficiently achieve their mission and more fully contribute to their overall success."
