Convio Announces “Dream It and Do It!” Theme and Keynote Speaker for the Convio Summit 2008

Internationally Recognized Expert in Creative Fundraising and Marketing, Tony Elischer, to Keynote Event

Convio Inc. today announced the theme “Dream It and Do It!” for its third annual conference, and also announced the Summit’s first-ever keynote speaker, Tony Elischer. The conference will be held November 17-19, in Austin, TX.

“Dream it and do it focuses on key benefits for Summit attendees: ideas that stretch their imaginations about ways to use the Internet for marketing, advocacy and fundraising, practical techniques and examples for how to turn their ideas into reality and how to take constituent relationships to new levels by using multiple communication channels and media,” said Gene Austin, CEO of Convio. “We’re offering networking opportunities, educational sessions and one-on-one discussions between clients, partners and industry experts to ensure that everyone leaves the Summit with knowledge they can use to engage constituents in new and exciting ways.”

Tony Elischer is a 25-year veteran of the nonprofit sector and is an internationally recognized expert with extensive experience in fundraising, marketing and creativity. As the founder and Managing Director of THINK Consulting Groups, Elischer has worked on every continent actively pioneering THINK’s international insight and strategy work, engaging with not-for-profit organizations, funders, regulators and international umbrella organizations. Elischer is particularly known for his creativity and originality in approaching fundraising opportunities and challenges. He is on the board of the Journal of Non-profit and Voluntary Sector Marketing, the Resource Alliance and is former chair of the International Fundraising Congress.

In addition to including an internationally-known keynote in the Convio Summit 2008 agenda line-up, a call for presentations was issued for this year’s conference, allowing nonprofit sector experts, partners, Convio clients and industry thought leaders to share insight, strategy and expertise at the conference. Summit participants will have the opportunity to visit the “Expert Lab” for product demonstrations and questions, the Summit’s Exhibit Hall to visit with companies and organizations that provide services to the nonprofit sector and the choice to attend sessions from three different tracks, each of which are designed to help organizations be more effective in fulfilling their missions by optimizing their use of the Internet and are designed to teach fresh ideas and real-world techniques for nonprofit leaders, fundraisers and advocacy organizations to harness in order to better reach their constituents.

The Summit agenda will include sessions on the following:

  • Integrating online and offline marketing
  • Integrating online fundraising, marketing and advocacy
  • Leveraging Web 2.0
  • Effective Web content management
  • Donor relations
  • Effective use of the Internet for “a-thon” events
  • Deriving value from your constituent data rather than just storing it

The continued growth of the Convio Summit is made possible in part by a network of Convio Fusion Partners and Sponsors. Sponsors for the 2008 event include: McPherson Associates, Changing Our World, Charity Dynamics, IATS, Care2, R3 Strategies, M+R Strategic Services, MPower, Target, ThePort and Adams, Hussey & Associates.
