Convio Database Connector Now Available on the Salesforce.com AppExchange

Convio and the Salesforce.com Foundation Work Together to Deliver Innovative Products to Nonprofits

Convio, Inc. today announced the availability of the Convio Database Connector on salesforce.com’s AppExchange, the first development in a relationship between Convio and the Salesforce.com Foundation that leverages the two organizations’ open platform technologies to meet the unique and diverse needs of the nonprofit market. The Convio Database Connector for Salesforce.com integrates the on-demand power of salesforce.com with Convio’s on-demand constituent relationship management (eCRM) suite, enabling the synchronization of constituent, donation, and campaign data between Convio and salesforce.com. Built using the Force.com platform, the Convio Database Connector for salesforce.com is immediately available for test drive and deployment on the AppExchange at www.salesforce.com/appexchange.

"The Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model is improving the way nonprofits operate, not only in their ability to connect with constituents but by improving their efficiency and effectiveness in accessing and sharing constituent data," said Gene Austin, CEO, Convio, Inc. "By working with salesforce.com and the Salesforce.com Foundation to integrate our suite of on-demand software and services, we can help nonprofit organizations create online connections with donors and constituents to drive fundraising, advocacy and advance their missions. The combination of Convio and salesforce.com provides the nonprofit industry with flexible, open and powerful on-demand software solutions."

"Many of our more than 3,000 nonprofit customers have already discovered the power of the AppExchange to extend the benefits of their salesforce solutions, allowing them to focus on their missions rather than IT infrastructure," said Clarence So, Chief Marketing Officer, salesforce.com, Inc. "Now they can access Convio’s solution via the AppExchange, pre-integrated with salesforce, enabling them to develop innovative, multi-channel integrated marketing campaigns."

Combined, Convio and salesforce.com currently serve more than 4,000 clients across the nonprofit spectrum. Organizations using the Convio solution will be able to more efficiently exchange data between their Convio-powered online database and their salesforce.com solution. The integration is key for conducting effective integrated marketing campaigns. Clients using the combination of Convio and salesforce.com will be able to:

  • Synchronize constituent profile data on a daily or more frequent automated schedule;
  • Associate online transaction data with constituent records in salesforce.com;
  • Link online donations to offline campaign designations for multi-channel marketing strategies;
  • Improve data hygiene and reduce duplicates with customized integration rules; and
  • Use the advanced segmentation features of salesforce.com to group constituents for targeted online outreach.

Mobile Loaves and Fishes, an Austin, TX-based, social outreach ministry to the homeless and indigent working poor, has implemented the Convio and salesforce.com solution as their primary data management system.

"As a small to mid-size volunteer-centric organization that continues to grow, we need seamless integration between our systems as well as the flexibility to integrate the right applications to meet our organizational management needs, changing environment and volunteer and donor expectations," said Alan Graham, President and CEO of Mobile Loaves and Fishes. "By integrating the on-demand systems of Convio and salesforce.com we have access to both our data and online systems when and where we need it. This helps to provide our constituents with the information they need and want to help grow their support and engagement and provides us a cost-effective platform, free, from the costs and challenges of client-server applications. Because the two systems are open, we expect to benefit from development of complimentary products and services that help us manage our organization and fulfill our mission."
