Convio, Inc. Ranked Number 20 in Deloitte's Technology Fast 50 Program for Texas

Nonprofit adoption of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, Convio’s innovative solutions that drive results and stronger constituent relationships, talented employees and partner network drive 707 Percent Revenue Growth

Convio, Inc. has been named to Deloitte's prestigious Technology Fast 50 Program for Texas, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, and life sciences companies in the area by Deloitte LLP, one of the nation’s leading professional services organizations. Rankings are based on the percentage revenue growth over five years from 2003–2007.

Convio's CEO Gene Austin credits the company’s pioneering use of the SaaS model and its leadership in providing software and services that use the Internet to give nonprofit organizations a better way to reach, inspire and manage donors, volunteers, advocates and other individuals that support their cause among the reasons for the company's 707 percent revenue growth from 2003–2007.

“Deloitte’s Texas Technology Fast 50 companies have shown the strength, vision and tenacity to succeed in today’s very competitive technology environment,” said Skip Moore, managing partner of Technology, Media and Telecommunications, Deloitte & Touche LLP. “We applaud the successes of Convio and acknowledge it as one of the very few to accomplish such a fast growth rate over the past five years.”

Convio's increase in revenues of 707 percent from 2003 to 2007 resulted in a number 20 ranking in the Technology Fast 50 for Texas.

To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2003 and $5,000,000 in 2007, be headquartered in North America, and be a company that owns proprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology.  Using other companies' technology or intellectual property in a unique way does not qualify.

Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 program for Texas is co-presented by business sponsors who are key to the success of this program. Texas Fast 50 sponsors help produce the overall program, plan the Executive Retreat, present Fast 50 Awards to company officials, conduct CEO business surveys, and present business information and strategy sessions through a series of C-level roundtable seminars. The 2008 Deloitte Texas Fast 50 sponsors are America’s 401k, CresaPartners, Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP, NASDAQ OMX, Porsche and TriNet.

Companies from the regional Technology Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are automatically entered in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks North America’s top 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies.
