Convio Makes Integration of Advocacy Actions Through Social Media and Mobile Easier
Austin, Texas (July 20, 2010) —
Convio (Nasdaq: CNVO), a leading provider of on-demand constituent engagement solutions for nonprofit organizations, today announced a new version of its online advocacy module to make it easier for advocacy organizations to leverage social media, social sharing and mobile technologies to drive results. Convio is also introducing an enhanced Web Form Delivery Engine to expand the reach, deliverability and overall impact of an organization’s advocacy efforts.
"To truly deliver successful advocacy campaigns and generate grassroots awareness that makes an impact and changes behavior, it's important to empower our constituents when and where they can make the most difference," said Joel Bartlett, Director of Marketing for PETA. "With Convio APIs we can host actions on our Facebook fan pages, take action via mobile devices and create applications for the iPhone that enable on-the-go activists to speak out against animal cruelty wherever they are. We are able to reach, inspire and move people anytime and anyplace to make a difference for animals."
New Convio Open APIs will allow nonprofits to create unique web experiences for advocacy campaigns, create applications that allow for action through iPhones and other mobile devices, as well as empower and track activity through Facebook and other social networks. Most importantly the APIs allow actions from social networks or mobile devices to be sent through the Convio system to take advantage of Convio’s industry-leading reach and deliverability. This integration provides a better, constituent experience and allows the nonprofit to better track and work with their most ardent supporters.
"Convio is leveraging our open architecture and new communication technologies to empower the modern nonprofit and their advocates to take action and reach elected officials through more channels, optimizing the advocates experience and meeting their expectations for choice, usability and any-time, any-where engagement" said Gene Austin, CEO of Convio. "At the same time we are making it easier for organizations to manage and track advocate engagement, while reaching more elected officials with messages that are critical to their cause. The newest version of Convio’s advocacy module empowers advocates to leverage their social networks and mobile devices to engage more deeply, while making it easier and more efficient for the nonprofit to integrate advocacy actions with other forms of online and offline engagement."
Additional new APIs will also provide a better, more integrated, constituent web experience for clients using Web content management systems like Drupal, Wordpress and Joomla.
