Convio Kicks Off Fourth Annual Convio Summit 2009, November 16-18

Summit to Include Keynote Presentation by Gilbert Tuhabonye and Launch of Nonprofit Live TV

Convio Summit brings together a community of Convio clients, industry experts, and more than 35 partner organizations to share common experiences with their peers and to discuss the latest strategies for nonprofits to boost online fundraising, advocacy and marketing efforts.

Summit highlights include:

  • Keynote Presentation – Summit features a keynote presentation by Gilbert Tuhabonye, inspirational running coach, author, motivational speaker, and philanthropist. With stories about his life experiences and achievements, combined with his inspirational attitude, and experience starting a nonprofit, Tuhabonye has a unique ability to move people emotionally and physically with his powerful story.
  • “The Shift” in Philanthropy Presentation – Vinay Bhagat, founder and chief strategy officer for Convio will provide a lunch time presentation on Tuesday highlighting the shifts in philanthropy and technology over the past 10 years and provide insight and ideas into what nonprofit professionals can expect in the future.
  • Panel Sessions – Nonprofit professionals, industry and Convio experts will participate in panel sessions to share success stories, meet and share ideas, gain in-depth Convio product knowledge, discover best practices for online fundraising, marketing and advocacy, and learn strategies for using the Internet to build stronger constituent relationships.
  • Innovator Awards Ceremony – The Innovator Awards recognize nonprofit peers who have shown innovation and achievement through the use of Convio’s online software and services to better engage supporters to help fulfill their missions. An awards ceremony announcing the winners will be held tonight from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
  • Nonprofit Live TV – Convio will be launching Nonprofit Live TV (NPTV) from the Summit showroom floor - www.nonprofitlive.tv. Broadcasting interviews and discussions, NPTV will delve into the new approaches and strategies nonprofit organizations are using to leverage technology to raise more money, reach more people and fulfill their mission more effectively. Interviews with newsmakers, innovators and experts will be shot live from the NPTV studio at Convio Summit, November 17. Featured guests will include Gilbert Tuhabonye, elite runner, author and philanthropist, Paul Clolery, editor-in-chief of The NonProfit Times, Geoff Peters, President, CDR Fundraising, executives from leading nonprofit organizations, as well as notable experts from YouTube, Facebook Causes, The Port, Event360, PayPal, IATS, Cathexis, Beaconfire, See3, Astadia and other organizations serving the nonprofit sector.
  • Exhibit Hall – The Exhibit Hall is a chance to visit with companies and organizations that provide services to the nonprofit sector. This marketplace is a great place to grab a cup of coffee and talk to exhibitors about ideas and plans, and find out how they can help you turn your ideas into reality.  Exhibitors will be available all day November 17 and 18.
