The Client
Hope & Heroes Children's Cancer Fund provides philanthropic assistance to the Herbert Irving Child & Adolescent Oncology Center (HICAOC). The Fund is a circle of hope and people from all walks of life – all ultimately connected – come together to help children and their families in their fight against childhood cancer.

The Problem
Although Hope & Heroes had many compelling stories and access to families who were eager to give back to the organization, it lacked the ability to accept tributes online. Additionally, Hope & Heroes had limited staff to support online events and activities. The organization wanted to take its online efforts to a new level that was on par with its strong offline events.

How We Solved It
Guided by a team of Convio online experts, Hope & Heroes learned how to use the Convio online marketing tools and how to achieve a set of clearly defined goals tied to their online success. With Convio Go! the two-person Hope & Heroes team received coaching on the development of communication templates, donation and registration forms, and also learned best practices related to technology and marketing. This comprehensive introduction to online communications and fundraising methods provided the ideal foundation upon which Hope & Heroes began to build an integrated marketing communications strategy.

The Outcome
Hope & Heroes hit the ground running and sent its first relationship pathway email within a month of joining the Convio Go! program. In the four months that followed, the organization launched a Personal Events campaign, Tributes, and an integrated (online/offline) end-of-year campaign with results that were three times higher than the year prior.
