From the CEO

Dear Jill,

This issue of Connection celebrates the Cloud — cloud computing, that is. This figurative term for data storage and processing via the Internet may seem like the latest buzz word, but it is living up to the hype. Cloud computing is making it possible for you to reach new heights as you raise awareness for your cause, fund mission-critical programs, and manage the data that is at the heart of your organization. And, Convio is passionate about helping you leverage this technology to reach your goals faster and smarter.

The celebration doesn’t end there. September marks the one-year anniversary of Convio Common Ground™ CRM, our donor management system that moves beyond the confines of a traditional database to full constituent relationship management. The cloud has made it possible for Convio to offer this innovative tool that fits the way you work, while giving you a complete view of all interactions with your constituents.

Read this issue to help you better understand cloud computing,  what it means for you, and see a great example of a nonprofit that is using the technology to the fullest. It’s a very nice view up here in the cloud.

Gene Austin

Meet Us on Common Ground

The Colorectal Cancer Coalition (C3) team decided early on that they wanted to find technology that would let them grow as an organization, was conducive to staff that was geographically dispersed and would remove IT burdens. They wanted technology that was flexible, web-based, and Open. Cloud-based solutions like Convio Common Ground CRM and Google Docs made perfect sense. See how C3 manages their website, email, documents, database and even their help-line "in the Cloud."
