From the CEO

Dear Nonprofit Professional,

The beginning of 2010 has focused on relief efforts for earthquake victims around the globe. These tragedies have reinforced the need for organizations of all kinds to have a strong crisis plan and the right technology in place to spread awareness and to manage the potential surge of donations. This issue of Connection provides tips on creating a rapid response plan, and explains the value of mobile and ways to leverage this new technology to maximize fundraising and outreach in times of need.

In addition, we are pleased to introduce new direct marketing features in Common Ground that organizations of nearly any size will enjoy, and announce landmark research from Convio, Edge Research and Sea Change Strategies on “The Next Generation of American Giving.” This study is the first definitive look at the contrasting charitable habits of Gen Y, Gen X, Boomers and Matures, and will likely affect your strategic plan in 2010 and beyond.

We are here to support your mission and help you reach the next generation of donors throughout times of crisis and in times of joy.

Convio CEO Gene AustinRegards,

Gene Austin
Chief Executive Officer, Convio
